Since graduating from Cambridge University, Robert has 20 years of experience in the media industry, starting at leading international law firm, Freshfields where he was an asset finance lawyer, before moving, via broadcaster ITV and Harbottle & Lewis, to law firm Reed Smith, where he acted predominantly on both the production and finance sides of feature films and television content and across large studio slate financings and small independent feature financings and everything in between for clients including BBC, Disney, Sony, Channel 4, ITV, the UK Film Council, NBCUniversal and Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and HSBC. This period included a long secondment to Film Four where he worked on films such as Slumdog Millionaire and Last King of Scotland and with counterparties including Fox and Universal.
After Reed Smith, Robert went to CinemaNX to advise the Isle of Man government on their film and tv investments, across all parts of the value chain from project development to collection of exploitation revenues.
From there he joined Pinewood Studios, where he became Senior Vice President and Commercial Director of the Studio’s production and finance arm, Pinewood Pictures.
Robert has a post graduate international copyright law diploma, with distinction, from King’s College, London.
